The automatic purge valve has a casing (1) with an inlet filter (3) in the inlet duct (2). A diaphragm (4) rests on the seat (40). The diaphragm divides the valve into two chambers (5, 6). The lower chamber (6) is closed by a plug (7) sealed by an 'O' ring (71). The diaphragm is kept in place by the spring (84) over the central sleeve (80) which holds the valve seat (9). When the air pressure is shut off the valve (9) is lifted off its seat and the system is automatically vented.
