The invention relates to a flexible coupling for drivingly connecting a driving rotating shaft to a driven rotating shaft while permitting substantial misalignment variation between the shaft axis. The coupling includes a first flange-type member connected to the driving shaft and a second flange-type member connected to the driven shaft. A plurality of flexible fixed length strap members are positioned in circumferential array between the flange-type members. A first end of each strap is connected to the first flange-type member while the other end of each strap is connected to the second flange-type member so that each strap is loaded in tension as driving loads are imparted through it as the first flange-type member drives the second flange-type member.
