Process for preparing perfluorinated ethers by exposing perfluorocarbonyl compounds of the formula wherein R1 and R2 mean identical or different perfluoroalkyl radicals optionally containing one or several ether-like bound oxygen atoms to light rays having a wave length of from 100 to 600 m.mu., in a liquid phase, and the compounds thus prepared.
