PURPOSE:To branch and couple light effciently from one fiber to plural fibers by using the reflected light emitted from reflecting mirrors which are given a certain angle of inclination with respect to the optical axis and a lens converging this reflected light. CONSTITUTION:The ends of fibers 3, 4, 5 are put at the focus of a lens 6. Reflecting mirrors 7, 9 are provided with an inclination of theta with respect to the optical axis. Here, the light emitted from the fiber 4 is made to the nearly parallel beam by the lens 6 and this beam is reflected by mirrors 7, 8. The light reflected by the mirror 7 enters the fiber 3 and the light reflected by the mirror 8 the fiber 5. In this way, the light signal having been transmitted in the fiber 4 is converged into the fibers 3, 5 with virtually no losses. Hence, the light signal may be efficiently branched from one fiber into a plurality of fibers. Here, if the transmission direction is reversed, this may be made as a coupling circuit. |
