<p>PURPOSE:To exert a nearly constant force of wind at all times in the direction of normal rotation of a vertical shaft type windmill by a method wherein four door-like wind collecting blades are placed at equal intervals around a vertical windmill which drives a power generator, and the angle of opening of each wind collecting blade is set at a specified angle value. CONSTITUTION:Four upright wind collecting blades 51-54 are placed at equal intervals around vertical shaft type windmill 1 having several vanes. Both ends of fastening shaft 7 of each wind collecting blade is supported by upper and lower windmill shaft bearing frames 2, 3. Each wind collecting blade, 51-54, is extended in the direction inclined by about 45 deg. on the side opposite to the direction of rotation of windmill 1, with respect to the direction of its diameter. Rectifying plates 6 are provided at upper and lower edges on both sides of wind collecting plates 51-54. By this, a wide range of wind velocity from breeze to storm can be controlled by the direction of extension of wind collecting blades 51-54, so that nearly constant rotational energy can be given to the windmill regardless of the direction or velocity of wind.</p> |
