The sailing board (4) rigging comprises a mast (1) freely rotatably and swivelably connected (3) to the board, a sail (2) and a forked or wishbone sail boom (6, 7) for operation by the user (5). The boom (6, 7) extends along either side of the sail and has the rear ends connected by a cross-bar (13). The sail has a pocket seam (16) containing a flexible spar (17) whose flexibility varies along its length. The bar (13) extends, through corresponding openings in the said and the spar, whilst the rearward end (18) of the spar contains the rear fixing point (14) of the sail. The curvature of the spar is adjustable (at point E).
