The bracket allows the safe aeration of tankers so that the passive bed lining in tankers carrying acid or corrosive liquids can be reconstituted by a flow of fresh air. The bracket is fixed beneath the manhole cover (1) and has a grooved plate (3) and a moving arm (2) attached to the plate by the fingers (4) sliding in the groove. When the cover is half open, the moving arm rests on the manhole wall (5) and is held by the clip (6), while to close, arm (2) tucks inside the manhole by folding back on plate (3) as fingers (4) move to the right.
