<p>The multiplier is used to multiply a non-rectangular signal by a constant multiplication factor. It has at least two comparator stages (3,4) receiving the rectified signal via a two-way rectifier (2). The outputs of the two comparator stages (3, 4) are connected to teh inputs of an exclusive OR gate (5), the output of which provides the multiplied signal frequency. Pref. the signal source (1) is coupled to the two-way rectifier (2) via an RC combination (R1, C1) for converting a frequency proportional amplitude into a constant amplitude. The two-way rectifier (2) is pref. coupled to each of the comparator stages via respective adjustable potentiometers (R2, R3), to provide input signals of differing amplitudes where the two comparator stages (3, 4) have the same input threshold.</p> |
