Electrophotographic recording material has a charge-producing layer based on a violanthrone pigment (I) and/or isoviolanthrone pigment (II) and a charge-transporting layer based on a p,p'-diaminodiphenylalkane (III). In the formulae, X is halogen, NO2, CN, COOH or acyl; n = 0.6; R1-4 are H or (substd.) (cyclo)alkyl, alkenyl or aryl; R5-6 are H or (substd.) (cyclo)alk(en)yl or aryl or together form a 3-10C (un)satd. hydrocarbon ring; R7-10 are H, halogen, OH or (substd.) (cyclo)alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkoxy or amino but not all of R7-10 are H). Double layer material meets the requirements for ease of mfr., physical strength, stability towards heat and moisture and lack of health hazards.
