PURPOSE:To sufficiently transmit the necessary quantity of light with a simple constitution by letting the light signal emitting from the end of one group of the optical fiber groups whose end faces are opposedly disposed enter the end of the other group thereby branching and transmitting the same to the respective optical fibers of the constituting unit. CONSTITUTION:The clads of the respective single core optical fiber ends of the 1st group 4 consisting of a plurality of single core optical fibers and the 2nd group 5 having the same number or more of single core optical fibers are removed to make core member 41 thru 43, 51 thru 57 which are then bundled and the outside thereof are integrated by the material of the same refractive index as that of the clad layers to provide coverings 44, 58. Next, with the group 4 being made the light emission side and the group 5 the photo detecting side, the common optical axes of each group are aligned and the end faces 45, 59 are opposedly disposed. Here, the diameter of the core members of the group 5 is made more than equivalent to that of the core members of the group 4 or the number of openings is made more than equivalent so that within allowable limit having been set in view of production and assembling the sufficient light enters the fibers 51 thru 57 of the end face 59. Thereby, the necessary quantity of light may be sufficiently transmitted. |
