Theinside comprises an upper and a lower element which are separated by a series of variable length elements. These are in the form of screws whose heads are fixed in the upper part of the sole and whose shanks cooperate with corresponding threaded bores in the lower sole. Pref. there are three screws, the centre one of which extends perpendicularly to the soles and the outer two are inclined in opposite directions. The screws are adjusted so that the contour of the upper sole corresponds to the plantar arch of the user's foot.
