Electrical connector for toys - has contact spring pressing cable end against sharp corners of hole

The connector couples a wire into a housing forming prt of an electrical circuit. A leaf spring in the form of a V (1, 2) is held in position in the housing (5) by a pin (3). This pin also forms the point about which the spring bends when the end of the cable (6) is inserted into the housing. The contact end (1) of the spring terminates near an opening (4) in the housing. To make a connection the spring (1) is depressed (7) and the cable end (6) entered between spring end and housing in the region of the hole (4). The spring is then released and presses the cable end against the sharp corners of the hole to give a good electrical contact.
