PURPOSE:To prevent cavitation in the surface of a cylinder liner for higher cooling effect by flooding cooling water over the entire surface of the liner through a main port and an auxiliary port communicating a cooling water passage with a water chamber including the cylinder liner. CONSTITUTION:A water chamber 12 is formed around the external face of a cylinder liner and communicated with a cooling water passage 11 via the ports. Both the ports of a main port 13 and an auxiliary port 14 are opened to the water chamber 12 in the different direction. A cooling water is guided to flow throughout along the internal face of the water chamber 12 to improve the cooling efficiency. |
