PURPOSE:To provide sufficient strength to a positive electrode by performing heat- treatment under the decomposition temperature of the binder after the pressurized molding of a mixture composed of manganese dioxide, electric conducting material and fluorine contained resin as binder, and increase discharge capacity by removing moisture. CONSTITUTION:After the pressurized molding of mixture composed of manganese dioxide as an active material, electric conducting material such as carbon powder and fluorine contained resin powder like copolymer of polytetrafluoroethylene, tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoroethylene as binder, a positive electrode 1 is produced by heating at a temperature below the decomposition temperature of the binder, e.g. 200-350 deg.C. By means of this process, the strength of the positive electrode is made sufficient, and at the same time, by removing moisture utilization of manganese dioxide of positive electrode 1 is raised and the discharge characteristic is improved. |
