PURPOSE:To attain a real-time operation by giving two buffer memories which store data in the middle of operation and reading data from one when data is written into the other. CONSTITUTION:Input data for one line is inputted to a first single discrete orthogonal converter (DOT) 12 from an input picture 11 in accordance with the raster scan of picture data, and single DOT conversion is executed, whereby the intermediate result is stored in the buffer memory 13a. At that time, the intermediate result which has previously been stored in the the buffer memory 13b is read by a second DOT converter 14, and single DOT is executed. The result is stored in a register 15 as output coefficient data being the result of two-dimensional DOT. When the processing terminates, the buffer memory 13a is connected to the second DOT converter 14 and the buffer memory 13b to the first DOT converter 12, whereby the similar processing is executed. |
