PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease of accuracy in deflection caused by variations in outer circumstance by a method wherein two charge sensor electric poles are arranged at a part of the gutter, and ink drips are struck against an intermediate part between the electric poles when a printing condition is to be sensed. CONSTITUTION:Deflection electric pole 2 and a gutter 3 are arranged on a base plate 1 with grooves 4 being made therebetween, the charged sensing electric poles 5-1, 5-2 enclosed by the grooves 6 are arranged at a part of the gutter 3 with the space 7 being made therebetween. The base plate 1 is arranged side by side with the poles, ink jet head 8 is arranged at an intermediate part therebetween and crossed with the printing paper 9 at a right angle. When a printing condition sensor signal is produced and a charging voltage is gradually increased, the ink drips struck against the electric pole 5-1 may be sensed. When the voltage is further increased, an output may be generated at the electric pole 5-2. Under this condition, the voltage is slightly decreased and the ink drips are controlled to fall into a space 7 between the electric poles 5-1 and 5-2. |
