<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the steering and to reduce min. turning radius considerably, by varying the steering ratio between front and rear wheels in accordance with the speed while bringing to reverse phase at low speed and bring to in-phase at high speed. CONSTITUTION:The displacement of rack 3a in differential device 3 steers the front wheel 6 from one end of arm rod 4 through a coupling rod 5, while the other end is coupled through a coupling rod 7 to an arm 8 movable around the falcrum 9. While the displacement of rack 3b steers the rear wheel 14 through arm rod 10, movable arm 11, and arm rods 12, 13. The coupling section 18 of arm rods 12, 13 is secured on the movable arm 18. The fulcrum 9 is secured to a screw chip 17 movable on the screw rod 16 coupled with motor 15. Since the motor 15 is controller by a controller 19 to the car speed, the fulcrum 9 moves on the movable arm with the car speed. The steering of front and rear wheels is performed in-phase at a speed higher than predetermined one and the steering angle ratio approaches to 1, while at low speed it is in reverse phase and the steering angle ratio approaches to -1.</p> |
