For the manufacture of a padded shoe upper, for example for inshoes of ski boots, at least three layers are arranged above one another, the two outer layers being formed from plastic foils weldable at high frequency, and between these two layers being arranged a padding material, such as, for example, polyester wadding, which is saturated in plastic weldable at high frequency. This multilayer construction is put under surface pressure, whereupon the two outer layers are welded together by high frequency at least over their circumference. In particular regions, such as, for example, the ankle regions, the padding inserts are fixed in position by additional welding seams. The apparatus for carrying out this process has mould halves (20, 27) movable relative to one another. Furthermore, one mould half (20) possesses a middle die (22) which can be driven with a lead in relation to the remaining parts of the mould half (20) designed as electrodes (21), with the result that the desired surface pressure can be applied before the welding (Figure 6). <IMAGE> |
