<p>PURPOSE:To improve deodorization efficiency so as to reduce the cost, by contacting a malodorous-material-contg. gas with MnO2 in an acidic region, then by contacting the gas with an aq. soln. of KMnO4 of pH not higher than 3, and by utilizing the MnO2 produced in the latter step in the former step. CONSTITUTION:A gas 1 contg. malodorous material such as NH3, H2S etc, is introduced to the bottom of an absorption tower 2, where it is washed with a washing soln. contg. MnO2 (one or more members selected from the group consisting of alpha, beta, gamma, delta, irregular, and hydrated MnO2) together with acid soln. such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid etc. The malodorous-material-contg, gas discharged from the absorption tower 2 is led to the bottom of an absorption tower 3, where it is washed with a circulation soln. composed of KMnO4 of a pH not higher than 3 and/or an aq. soln. 7 of NaMnO4, sulfuric acid 5. The MnO2 prduced and settled in the circulation tank 9 is returned to the circulation tank 8 by a pump 11 and is used repeatedly.</p> |
