PURPOSE:To conduct multicolor printing constantly at high feed precision by a method wherein a mark for each feed is printed on the surface of an endless belt, the mark for each feed is detected, and the feed span of the belt is controlled. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic screen printing wherein multicolor printing is conducted while an endless belt 4 travels several times according to the number of printing colors, marks 28 for controlling the feed of the belt 4 are printed on the surface of the belt 4 before or simultaneously with the first printing step. The intermittent feed of the belt 4 during this mark printing step is controlled according to a program, in response to the difference between a belt feed span setpoint converted to pulse number and a detected value. The intermittent feed of the belt 4 during the following printing steps is controlled through detection of the mark 28 for each feed (printed on the belt 4) by detectors 29 and 30. |
