Gearbox with two output shafts - has driving shaft acting directly on first output and via layshaft on second

The gearbox comprises a driving shaft and a pair of driven shafts between which torque is divided. It is used particularly for driving the two auger shafts of a double-auger extruder. The driving shaft (1) acts directly on the first auger shaft (2), and also on a layshaft (4). The latter acts via top and bottom support shafts (5, 6) on the second auger shaft (3). There can be meshing spur gears (7, 8) on driving and layshafts, the layshaft sliding axially and being automatically centred by doubelhelical gear teeth.
