This invention is directed to cis-dimethylpiperazines and carbazoles usable for the preparation of 9- [3- (3,5-cis-dimethylpiperazine)propyl]carbazole, salts thereof and solvates of the salts, which are useful in treating aggression and/or psychoses in man and in animals, such as dogs, swine, horses and cattle.
