PURPOSE:To ensure support for the mobile magnetic head by connecting rotatable arms located in parallel to each other to the head arm via the link mechanism, thus realizing the compact and light-weight structure for the guide mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Rotary arms 1 and 2 are attached to the support structure via the bearing or the like so that they may turn based on the seek motion of head arm 6 and centering on fulcrums 3 and 4. At the same time, arm 6 with magnetic head 5 attached in linked for the same time, arm 6 with magnetic head 5 attached is linked for support to rotary arms 1 and 2 via the link mechanism comprising arms 1 and 2 plus two units of plate spring assemblies 7/8 and 9/10 attached to the tips of arms 1 and 2 each. Then one end of arm 6 is connected to mobile element 13 of the voice coil motor to secure the seek action. In such way, the compact and light-weight structure can be realized for the support and guide mechanism of arm 6. |
