The evaluation circuit periodically integrates the signal across the measuring diagonal over a given time period. Subsequent to this integration a further resistance (12) is connected in parallel with the bridge resistances (1-4) so that the polarity of the signal across the measuring diagonal is reversed. The new diagonal signal is then integrated as before. Pref. the integrator (10, 11) for the diagonal signal is connected to a zero comparator (16), the output of which controls the switch (13) for connecting the further resistance (12) in parallel with the bridge resistances (1-4). Each of the bridge resistances (1-4) may comprise an expansion strip, with the further resistance (12) positioned in the same locality and made from a corresponding material.
