<p>System is of the type in which a thin film of liq. flows continuously through a treatment chamber where irradiation takes place. Current of liq. is now passed through a pretreatment chamber immediately prior to entering the irradiation chamber. In the pretreatment chamber, the liq. is subjected continuously to an ultrasonic vibration, pref. within the frequency range of 20-50 KHz, partic. 26 KHz. Used for disinfecting liq. partic. drinking water and waste water for disposal. Ultrasonic vibration produces cavitation of the liq. with synergistic enhancement of the sterilisation achieve by photochemical effect of the irradiation. Treatment efficiency is further improved by the ultraviolet tubes being kept perfectly clean all the time by the ultrasonic impulses.</p> |
