<p>The assembly which is to add to the gripping power of tyres (P). It is made of a number of bars of flexible plastics material which go around the tyre profile. Each bar has two thin lips running transversely across the tyre. Studs (1) are implanted in the bars to improve the grip on icy ground. The internal face of each bar has small protrusions. These penetrate the tyre tread pattern to improve the overall grip of the bar on the tyre. Each bar is X-shaped and has fittings (3, 4) for joining to others.</p> |
