<p>The piston pump is particularly intended for handling foodstuffs, such as milk, wine, beer etc. It comprises a stuffing box housing (4) provided with connections (10-12) through which cleaning fluid enters to flow around the seals (4a, b) and the piston rod (3) or plunger, after which it emerges through outlet ducts (10a, 11a, 12a). The piston (2) may be provided with ducts (9) through which cleaning liquid is introduced between the piston seals (2a, b). The cleaning liquid, fed to the housing, may be taken from the pump cylinder (1) or pump outlet (8).</p> |
