PURPOSE:To efficiently perform the printing of a data table, by variably control ling the number of pages of printing data wherein a paper size, a character pitch and a line pitch are indicated and calculating said data prior to starting printing to display the same. CONSTITUTION:When the first paper size is altered from 'A4' to 'B4' on a display picture, a character pitch becomes possible with respect to 'large' and 'medium'. When the character pitch is altered from 'medium' to 'nil', a paper size 'A4' also becomes possible. When there is this movement of a set value, a printing format control part 17 takes in the data of a paper size, a paper direction, a character pitch and a line pitch to calculate the values of the number of characters and lines printable in a page and takes out the data of an item length from an item data format memory area 15 on the basis of the item printing order indicated presently to add the same and displays an underline to the storable data of a paper size, a paper direction and a charac ter pitch. Further, the data in an item data memory area 14 is calculated and divided by the value of the line in a page to calculate and display the number of pages. |
