PURPOSE:To prevent decrease of an ignition coil's secondary discharge energy for ensuring ignition, by controlling ignition advancing angle of knocking and providing a limit circuit which controls the minumim value of primary winding current breaking time. CONSTITUTION:By detecting 1 ignition source timing and determining 3 rising of primary current of an iginition coil 6 from an output of a comparator section 2, the primary current break timing is determined 4 by presence or absence of occurrence of knocking. And, by providing a limit circuit 7, making an output after kept waiting for a fixed period of primary winding current breaking time from the time when a knocking control section 4 stopped emitting output signals, and by setting the minimum value of the primary current breaking time of the ignition coil 6, it is compared with a dwell time control section 3's rising timing and whichever the slower one is selected. By doing so, even at the time when the ignition advancing angle is delayed due to occurrence of knocking, it is possible to take time for obtaining secondary discharge energy, and therefore, a defective ignition can be eliminated. |
