PURPOSE:To improve a responsiveness at the start of an ink drop formation against a pulse voltage by allowing the electric field control type ink jet recorder to apply vibration to the ink contained within the nozzle by means of a vibration system. CONSTITUTION:By utilizing an ink tank 2 for feeding a conductive ink 1, a nozzle 3, an ink chamber 4, a vibration method 5 such as a piezo-vibrator, and an electrode 7 opposed to a nozzle, a pulse voltage is applied between the nozzle or the ink and the electrode 7 with a signal source 8 to develop the ink drop from the nozzle. In this condition, the ink within the nozzle 3 developed the frequency having a frequency less than 1/2 of drop formation by means of a vibration application device 5, when the pulse voltage is not applied, a high freuquency having an amplitude so as to prevent the ink drop of the nozzle 3 from dripping is applied to provide a quick pulse response of the ink drop formation. |
