PURPOSE:To prevent rust, deterioration and yellowing, by incorporating hydrotalcites into halogen-contg. polyolefins, said halogen resulting from the use of a catalyst for polymn. or post-halogenation. CONSTITUTION:(B) From about 0.01-5pts.wt. of hydrotalcites having a surface area of below 30m<2>/g as determined by BET method is incorporated into (A) 100pts.wt. of polyolefin contg. halogen to prevent rust, deterioration or coloring property. The halogen contained in the polyolefin is resulted from (a) the use of a catalyst for polymn. and/or (b) post-halogenation. For example, the hydrotalcites of formula (wherein 0<x<=0.5, pref. 0.2<=x<=0.4, A<n-> is n-valent anion, pref. CO3<2-> or SO3<2->, m is a positive number) are used for polyethylene, polypropylene, etc. prepd. by using hulogen-gontg. Ziegler type catalyst. |
