<p>Filter with back flush mechanism has element in the form of a conical basket. At one side is a rim of channel with the same profile as the basket, attached to a shaft running down the centre of the filter. This shaft has a pair of valve elements at its base and has a screw thread at the top. When rotated the shaft moves up or down. When the shaft is raised, the lower valve opens allowing liq. to escape and draws liq. down the backflush channel. When fully retracted, the second valve element seals the run off from the dirty liq. side of the filter and only allows out the liq. which runs down the channel. The channel fits flush onto the element and pulls liq. back through, all the surface being cleaned by rotating it round. Used for filtering liqs. esp. water. Arrangement gives improved operational efficiency with economic construction and functional design.</p> |
