摘要 <p>The braking system (TB) is controlled to regulate the speed of each successive rail vehicle (N, V), so that the initial rail vehicle (N) has left the track section incorporating the gradient braking sytem (TB) before the following rail vehicle (V) reaches the beginning of this track section. The required speed of the initial rail vehicle (N) is calculated in dependence on the measured distance and speed of the following rail vehicle (V), e.g. obtained via a radar velocity and range measuring device (RD). Pref. a limit value for the permissible speed is obtained in dependence on the mean axle weight and the running characteristics of the rail vehicle (N, V).</p>
