<p>A worm (1) runs in an end bearing (3) which consists of an inner ring (4) and two outer half-rings (5, 6) separated from it by balls (7). The inner ring (4) has internal threads (8) to allow it to mate with the threads (2) of the worm (1). It also has a projecting outer collar (9), through which a pin (12) passes, and thence into the worm (1), to lock the two components together. There is no need for production of special shapes on the worm.</p> |
