PURPOSE:A mixture of sorbitol and noncrystalline carbohydrates in a specific proportion is concentrated by boiling, cooled and combined with flavors, solidifed, thus producing title composition which can suitably used for beverage and food because of its high oxidation resistance. CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting of 60-90% of sorbitol based on the solid parts and 10-40% of noncrystalline carbohydrate as starch hydrolyzate or reduced starch hydrolyzate is concentrated at temperatures over 130 deg.C under normal pressure to less than 6% water content and the product is cooled preferably to 40-75 deg.C and flavors are added thereto at these temperatures. They are mixed and extended into thin layers under cooling to solidify. |
