Adsorptive sepn. of oil from water - by passing through filter beds in series and in counterflow to air bubbles (NL 3.6.80)

Adsorptive system for the sepn. of liqs., esp. of oil from water, uses a filter bed of granular filtering material through which the liq. is passed. Air or gas bubbles are allowed to ascend through the filter bed and the liq. is directed in counterflow or cross flow relative to them. Better and more uniform distribution of the liq. over the filter bed, even its more distant parts is obtd. This has been achieved with very little effort and without causing abrasions.
