<p>The valve contains water cooling pipes bent into rings and running along the sealing rails used for the driven shutter plate. Between the flanges employed to connect the valve to a hot wind duct are radial walls which extend over >=180 degrees in the lower part of the valve, and are joined by an axial wall to form water cooling channels with holes leading to the pipes. Pipes are pref. also joined to a circular wall forming the bore of the valve and also functioning as the internal walls of additional water cooling channels of which one wall consists of a radial wall. The object is to increase the efficiency of water cooling of the valve and to reduce thermal stresses in the valve.</p> |
