The mixing system automatically detects any gaps in signals in the first sound track and when such a gap is detected automatically causes the transfer of signals from a second sound track to fill the gaps to ensure an unbroken signal. The first track may be one stereo sound track on a cinematographic film and the second track may be the adjacent second stereo track. The detector consists of a rectifier rectifying the first track's signal and controlling a transistor switch that blends in the signal from the second track.
