The h.v. circuit breaker has its moving contact driven by an operating insulator moving in a guide or support insulator. The outer surface of the operating isolator (12) has a slot (14) that holds a ring (15) whose outer free surface moves inside the support insulator (10). The operating insulator has a section with an increased diameter. The slot is set into this section. A cylindrical ring(16) is fixed to the inside surface of the support insulator and has a length at least equal to the operating travel of the operating insulator so that the outer surface of the slot's ring moves on the inner surface of the cylindrical ring.
