The armour plate for an armoured vehicle includes a window with an opening through it into which can be inserted the nozzle of a hand held weapon. This enables the muzzle to be supported while being fired, and enables the weapon to be armed, using a sighting marking on the weapon sighting device. Aiming of the weapon is further assisted by a support into which the muzzle is fitted, having a spherical bearing portion. The window can consist of four layers, with two thicker inner sheets between two thinner outer sheets. The support is then carried by an inner block with a spherical internal surface and an outer block with suitable clearance to allow the support to tilt. The outer glass sheets also have corresponding clearances.
