The lampside for a fluorescent tube is in the form of a rectangular box (2) with a grid (1) fitted below the tube. The grid consists of a number of detachable flat strips (6) made of metal or plastics and fitted parallel to one another. The strips have V shaped notches (62) to facilitate their attachment to longitudinal support tubes. They also have a central slot to receive a longitudinal strip to complete the grill.
