The electrical conductivity of internal tubular foil surfaces is increased by (i) coating with a soln. of a conductivity-increasing cpd. (I), so as to form a thin, even film, and (ii) opt. drying. Pref. (I) are quat. ammonium salts e.g. NEt(C16H33)MePrCl or NBu(C18H37)EtMeBr, used as an aq. soln. or dissolved in a resin-solvent mixt., e.g. a mixt. of phenoplast or PVA with isopropanol.
