Folding bed which can occupy a vertical storage position and a horizontal use position. The base can be moved by means of rollers (2) which follow ramps (10, 11) integral with a casing. The said ramps have a direction, close to the intersection (M), between, on the one hand, a horizontal plane (H) passing through the centre of gravity (G) of the movable assembly and, on the other hand, a cylindrical surface (C) passing through the axes of the rollers and the said centre of gravity. <IMAGE>
