PURPOSE:To manufacture a luminous diode with a long luminous surface, by using a conventional assembling device and lead frames employed for assembly wherein leads and a sealing resin shell are formed so that the arranging direction of the leads and the londitudinal direction of the shell cross each other. CONSTITUTION:The longitidinal direction of a sealing resin shell crosses at right angles the surfaces of lead frames-that is, in the arranging direction of leads 1, 2 mounted in parallel. In such a luminous diode, the length A' of a long side of a luminous surface 5A is not regulated by a pitch B of the lead frames. When manufacturing this device, a process of assembly up to just befroe sealing the device with resin is entirely the same as conventional devices, and only a sealing metal mold is altered and the device may be sealed with resin while organizing a relationship that the longitudinal direction crosses at right angles in the arranging direction of the leads when sealing the device with resin. |
