1,181,575. Liquid level indication. PITNEYBOWES Inc. May 31, 1967 [May 31, 1966], No.25167/67. Heading G1H. [Also in Division G2] A light source 28 is placed between two adjacent light-transmitting containers 16, 22, of liquid toner and toner intensifier for replenishing a developing tank 12 in an electro-photographic apparatus, such that when the liquid level in either container reaches a predetermined low-level, the light from the source, unimpeded by the presence of the toner or intensifier, can shine through the container on to a light receiving means 30, 36, to provide a signal outside the body of the apparatus. The light recipient means may be light guides 30, 36 having lower inclined faces 32, 38, for reflecting the light to the upper visible end. Where the predetermined low-levels of the containers are different, a light baffle prevents direct transmission through the upper part of the container with the lower low-level. The light-transmitting containers may be transparent or translucent e.g. of polypropylene. |
