The distribution of a product is performed automatically to ensure that the frequency and quantity have predeter-values. This system may be utilised for distribution of medical products in a hospital or the home of a patient. A computer (2) is controlled by a program and clock system (3) to generate signals for a controller (1). This is connected by cables or optical transmission circuits to various alarm systems (11-13) which are adjacent to distribution equipment (14-16). These control the distribution circuits (20-22) which ensure that associated elements (26-34) permit checking of the withdrawal of the product on a unit by unit basis. Connections (35-37) transmit the quantities actually withdrawn to the alarm systems for transmission to the controller.
