Anthraquinone reactive dyes are of formula (I). In (I) R1 is 1-4C alkyl or halogen; R2 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R3, R4 and R5 are as R2 or halogen; m, n and p are 0 or 1; X is NH2 when n = 0, or NH2, 1-4C alkyl amino or dialkylamino when n = 1. Pref. R3, R4 and R2 are H, CH3 or C2H5; R5 is H; R1 is CH3; X is NH2. The SO3H gp. may be in 5, 6, 7, or 8- posn. in ring A. Used in dyeing or printing of fibres contg. OH gps. esp. cellulose, or nitrogen, e.g. wool, silk, polyamides or polyurethanes, in blue shades. Excellent fastness to light and wet treatments are obtd.
