PURPOSE:To enhance discharge voltage and active substance-utilizing rate by increasing the conductivity of interface between positive electrode-active substance and latticing body by adhering an electrically conductive metal oxide of higher order to the surface of positive electrode-latticing body. CONSTITUTION:An electrically conductive metal oxide of higher order, e.g., of tin, zinc, etc., is adhered to the surface of a positive electrode latticing body by a procedure, for example, in which a positive electrode latticing body of Pb-Sb-As alloy, etc., is dipped in a solution containing 20g/l of stannous sulfate and 60g/l of sulfuric acid with stirring to apply a tin chemical plating on the surface of the latticing body due to differences in standard electrode potential between tin and lead and also in concentration between ions present in the solution. In this case, the preferred amount of tin adhered to the surface is approx. 1 micron in thickness or approx. 0.2% of the weight of the latticing body. |
