PURPOSE:To accomplish a constant discharge with an even amount of liquid maintained in a given direction at all times by making the end of an orifice on the wall surface of the recording head passage lyophilic and the portion surrounding the orifice on the outer wall surface of the head lyophobic. CONSTITUTION:On the outer wall surface surrounding the orifice in the discharge orifice section 7, a member 11 is treated by a substance lyophobic to the liquid filling a passage 10, such as silicic lyophobic agent and fluoric lyophobic agent so that a lyophobic film is formed thereon. In this case, the member 11, making at least a part of the passage, where the lyophobic film 9 is provided is so arranged that the wall faces 12 and 13 of the passage 10 is at least lyophilic to the liquid. To achieve this, the member 11 is made up of a lyophilic substance or the wall faces 12 and 13 treated on the surface by a lyophilic substance. For the lyophilic substance, available are stainless steel and nickel for instance. For the agent imparting a lyophilic property, available are epoxy resin and phenolic resin, for instance. |
