PURPOSE:To completely remove the residual charges and toner on the drum after transfer at a breath by using a conductive roller for an elastic roller for cleaning and applying the voltage of the polarity opposite from that of the toner to this. CONSTITUTION:A conductive rubber roller 11 is used for the elastic roller for cleaning and a DC voltage is applied thereto through a spring 6. The one comprising lining a metal shaft with rubber of, e.g., hardness 10-30 deg. and conductivity about 10-10<3>OMEGAcm to 70% is used for said conductive rubber roller 11. The spring 6 is pressed under about 0.5-1kg to the surface of the drum 1 through the cleaning material. As a result of this, the cleaning material 7 is pressed to the drum 1 surface and the residual toner is electrostatically or mechanically picked up and absorbed to the cleaning member by the voltage applied to the conductive rubber roller 11. |
